Description

Kadomatsu are traditional Japanese New Year decorations placed at the entrance of homes as a signpost for the Toshigami-sama. The Toshigami-sama, revered as the deity of the incoming year, is believed to bring renewal and prosperity. It is said that this deity descends to the human world, guided by the kadomatsu and other entrance decorations, and then resides in the kagami mochi placed inside the home, bestowing blessings and fortune on the household.
