Description
In Japan, there is a proverb that says, "Cranes live for a thousand years, and turtles live for ten thousand years." This phrase is often used in auspicious celebrations to express wishes for a long and happy life, like that of the crane and turtle.
This tenugui features a turtle with moss growing on its shell, symbolizing its longevity (known as "Minogame"), alongside a crane, another symbol of long life. Together with pine and plum motifs, this design is characterized by its auspicious elements.
By simply inserting this rod into the top and bottom of a tenugui, you can easily create a tapestry.
