Description

Strawberries were first introduced to Japan in the late Edo period, around the 1830s, brought by Dutch traders.
At that time, they were even called “Oranda Ichigo” — meaning “Dutch strawberries.”
Hand-dyed by skilled artisans, this tenugui combines sweetness and history, adding a cheerful touch to your everyday life.

By simply inserting this rod into the top and bottom of a tenugui, you can easily create a tapestry.

Size
  • approx. L98 cm x W37 cm
  • 100% Cotton
  • Made in Japan
Care instructions
  • Wash separately from other clothing by hand for the first few washes, as this is a hand-dyed product.
  • Avoid using bleach or detergent containing bleach.
  • After washing, allow it to dry completely.
  • When fraying occurs, trim the loose horizontal threads, leaving about 5mm of the vertical fringe. Repeat this process several times until the fraying stops.
