Description

Known for its elegant, sword-like leaves and striking purple blossoms, the Ayame (Iris) has long been admired in Japan as a symbol of purity, protection, and the arrival of early summer. Its distinctive form and deep cultural roots make it a timeless motif in Japanese art and design.

 

By simply inserting this rod into the top and bottom of a tenugui, you can easily create a tapestry.

  • Wash separately from other clothing by hand for the first few washes, as this is a hand-dyed product.
  • Avoid using bleach or detergent containing bleach.
  • After washing, allow it to dry completely.
  • When fraying occurs, trim the loose horizontal threads, leaving about 5mm of the vertical fringe. Repeat this process several times until the fraying stops.
