Tenugui (Mama-no-Momiji)
- 2 auf Lager
Description
This tenugui features a design inspired by Utagawa Hiroshige’s woodblock print “Mama no Momiji Tekona no Yashiro Tsugihashi”—one of the masterpieces from his renowned ukiyo-e series that influenced Western artists such as Van Gogh and Monet.
The scene depicts the autumn colors of Kōbō-ji Temple in Mamma, Ichikawa City, a famous spot for viewing red maple leaves.
From the temple’s hilltop, one can overlook Tekona Shrine—known for prayers of safe childbirth—and the graceful Tsugihashi Bridge, with the distant mountains of Tsukuba visible on the horizon.
Hand-dyed with care, this tenugui captures the serene beauty and timeless artistry of Hiroshige’s landscape.
By simply inserting this rod into the top and bottom of a tenugui, you can easily create a tapestry.
