Description
Morning glories are symbolic of summer in Japan and have been cherished for centuries. During the Edo period, cultivating them became a popular pastime, leading to the creation of many beautiful varieties.
The flowers bloom in the early morning and wilt by midday, symbolizing fleeting beauty and the transience of life. In the language of flowers, they represent "love" and "ephemeral love." As a cherished summer tradition, they are often grown in home gardens and featured in children's school observation projects. Their cool, refreshing blooms bring a welcome sense of freshness during the hot summer months.
