Description
Elegant and dignified, the hawk has long been admired in Japan as a bird of strength, sharp vision, and quiet authority. Its graceful yet powerful presence gives this tenugui a striking and refined character.
In Japanese tradition, hawks were closely associated with falconry, especially the goshawk, which was highly valued for its beauty and skill. The hawk is also known as one of the auspicious symbols to appear in the first dream of the New Year, together with Mount Fuji and eggplants.
Carefully hand-dyed using traditional techniques, this tenugui captures the noble presence of the hawk in a bold yet elegant design. It can be enjoyed as a wall hanging, used as a lightweight cotton towel, wrapped around a gift, or incorporated into creative craft projects.
By simply inserting this rod into the top and bottom of a tenugui, you can easily create a tapestry.
