What's Tenugui?

A tenugui is a thin, rectangular cotton clothβ€”about 90 cm by 35 cmβ€”that has been used in Japan for centuries. The word tenugui (てぬぐい) comes from te (hand) and nugui (to wipe), as it was originally used to dry hands.

Lightweight, durable, and easy to carry, tenugui have been part of everyday life in Japan since the Edo period.
