Description

Known for its long, sword-like leaves and early summer blooms, the Shobu (Japanese iris) has been cherished in Japan as a symbol of strength, vitality, and protection. Closely associated with Tango no Sekku (Children’s Day), it has long been used to ward off evil and celebrate healthy growth. Its elegant form and cultural depth make it a powerful and enduring motif in Japanese design.

 

By simply inserting this rod into the top and bottom of a tenugui, you can easily create a tapestry.

  • Made in Japan
  • Wash separately from other clothing by hand for the first few washes, as this is a hand-dyed product.
  • Avoid using bleach or detergent containing bleach.
  • After washing, allow it to dry completely.
  • When fraying occurs, trim the loose horizontal threads, leaving about 5mm of the vertical fringe. Repeat this process several times until the fraying stops.
