Description

This tenugui depicts a graceful flock of cranes soaring across a sky glowing red with the rising sun.
In Japan and many other cultures, cranes are revered as symbols of longevity and good fortune—reflected in the saying “Tsuru wa sennen” (“Cranes live a thousand years”).
Hand-dyed with exquisite care, this design captures a timeless wish for peace, prosperity, and a bright beginning.

By simply inserting this rod into the top and bottom of a tenugui, you can easily create a tapestry.

Size
  • approx. L90 cm x W37 cm
  • 100% Cotton
  • Made in Japan
Care instructions
  • Wash separately from other clothing by hand for the first few washes, as this is a hand-dyed product.
  • Avoid using bleach or detergent containing bleach.
  • After washing, allow it to dry completely.
  • When fraying occurs, trim the loose horizontal threads, leaving about 5mm of the vertical fringe. Repeat this process several times until the fraying stops.
