Yumeji Takehisa (1884-1934) is a painter who epitomized the 'Taisho Romanticism', widely known for his sentimental style of painting, particularly his 'Yumeji-style Beauties.' He produced a diverse body of work that spanned Japanese painting, ink wash painting, oil painting, woodblock printing, and design. In addition to his artistic endeavors, Yumeji also exhibited talent in composing children's songs, poetry, and fairy tales, and continues to enjoy high popularity today.
