Description

This hand-dyed tenugui features an elegant arrangement of wagasa, traditional Japanese paper umbrellas. Their repeating circular forms create a simple yet striking pattern, highlighting the beauty of traditional Japanese design.

Made from bamboo and paper, wagasa have been used in Japan for centuries. Beyond their practical purpose, they are admired for their graceful shape and intricate craftsmanship, and remain a familiar symbol of Japanese culture and aesthetics.

Carefully hand-dyed using traditional techniques, this tenugui celebrates the timeless charm of wagasa. Whether displayed as wall art, used as a lightweight cotton towel, or enjoyed as a thoughtful gift, it brings a refined touch of Japan into everyday life.

By simply inserting this rod into the top and bottom of a tenugui, you can easily create a tapestry.
