Tenugui (Shinme)
- In magazzino, pronto per la spedizione
Description
This tenugui, titled “Shinme,” features a sacred horse from Shinto tradition.
In Japanese belief, the shinme is the divine horse that a god rides when entering the human world. Since the Nara period, people have dedicated horses to shrines as offerings for protection, prosperity, and other prayers.
Even today, many shrines preserve sacred horse stables or statues, and some still care for living divine horses—reflecting the deep connection between Shinto culture and everyday life.
This elegant design carries the dignity and blessing associated with the shinme, making it a meaningful item for celebrations and well-wishes.
By simply inserting this rod into the top and bottom of a tenugui, you can easily create a tapestry.
