Description

Offering mochi, also known as 'Kagami Mochi,' is a traditional round rice cake used for New Year celebrations. It is believed that Toshigami-sama, the deity who brings fortune in the new year, sits upon these offered mochi and resides there. Consuming this mochi is thought to bestow strength, wishing for the family's health and safety throughout the year. The mochi's round shape symbolizes completeness, and stacking two pieces signifies 'accumulating blessings' and 'growing older joyously'.

This offering mochi, crafted from washi paper, is made entirely by hand. Its size, just right to fit in the palm of your hand, makes it a versatile addition to any desk or windowsill, and an ideal gift. It can be easily combined with various other New Year decorations, not confined by space. It also comes with red and white paper mats for an easy yet authentic New Year's decoration.
