Description
This hand-dyed tenugui features Magakiawase (籬合わせ), a traditional Japanese pattern inspired by magaki, a type of rustic fence made from loosely woven bamboo or brushwood.
Such fences have long been used in Japan to enclose gardens and mark boundaries. Their simple, interwoven structure has also inspired decorative patterns in traditional Japanese textiles and crafts.
By simply inserting this rod into the top and bottom of a tenugui, you can easily create a tapestry.

Care instructions
- Wash separately from other clothing by hand for the first few washes, as this is a hand-dyed product.
- Avoid using bleach or detergent containing bleach.
- After washing, allow it to dry completely.
- When fraying occurs, trim the loose horizontal threads, leaving about 5mm of the vertical fringe. Repeat this process several times until the fraying stops.
