Description

The sunflower is known as a symbol of summer and is native to North America. It was introduced to Japan during the Edo period. Sunflowers have the habit of turning their flowers toward the sun, earning them the nickname "flowers of the sun." Their nutritious seeds are used for food and oil production, making them popular health foods. Additionally, sunflowers are highly popular for ornamental purposes, widely cultivated in gardens, parks, and flower fields as a summer staple. The flower's meanings include "admiration" and "only looking at you."
