Description
Sugoroku, a game that captivates children today, was originally an adult pastime during the Heian period (794-1185). Dice, often used in the game, symbolize the idea that "no matter how they roll, there's always a result." This association with inevitability led to dice becoming a symbol of auspiciousness, representing aspirations for success and victory.
In the Japanese language, it's common to change the meaning of words through kanji conversion to enhance their auspiciousness. Here, the word "megaderu," originally meaning "the result of dice rolling," is transformed into "the sprouting of a plant," aiming to invoke positivity and good fortune.
