Description
In Japan, where rice is a staple food and rice culture is deeply rooted, mochi and dango are indispensable for traditional events. During Tsukimi (moon-viewing), moon-viewing dumplings (tsukimi dango) are offered to give thanks for the harvest and to pray for a good yield of crops yet to be harvested. The round moon-viewing dumplings symbolize the full moon. When offering them, place 15 dumplings (or 5, or the number corresponding to the full moons of the year) on a tray or plate lined with white paper, in reference to the fifteenth night.
Pair them with 'Washi Paper Japanese Silver Grass' to create a more festive moon-viewing display. These are perfect as offerings for Tsukimi, as well as for autumn interior decor and seasonal decorations.
