Description
This set includes a lotus flower, cucumber horse, eggplant cow, and hozuki, perfect for your Obon period decorations. You can display just the lotus flower after the Obon festival.
The lotus, which blooms in the summer mornings over water, is depicted in Buddhism as a flower that blooms in the Pure Land. The reason for placing the cucumber horse and eggplant cow on a tray is that it is believed ancestral spirits ride the horse and return home with their belongings on the cow. The hozuki is said to serve as a lantern guiding the spirits back home.
The lotus stem contains wire, allowing you to freely shape it. The cucumber horse and eggplant cow are fixed on a single base.
