Shime Kazari

”Toshigami-sama” is a deity believed to descend from mountains on New Year’s Day to bring blessings for the year ahead. ”Shimekazari”, a traditional decoration, is hung at the entrance of homes to welcome and honor this deity, with hopes for good fortune. It’s typically displayed from the end of the year until January 7th.
