Description

This tenugui features an elegant karakusa (arabesque) pattern inspired by Ko-Imari—the classic Imari ware porcelain from the Edo period.
Imari ware was produced in Arita, Saga Prefecture, and became highly valued for its refined beauty and craftsmanship.
Among its many designs, arabesque motifs were especially popular and widely produced from the mid-Edo period.
It is also said that Dutch Delftware ceramics were influenced by these Ko-Imari styles, reflecting a fascinating connection between Japan and the Netherlands.

By simply inserting this rod into the top and bottom of a tenugui, you can easily create a tapestry.
