This is evident from the many poems dedicated to plum blossoms in classic Japanese anthologies like the 'Manyōshū' (circa 759 AD) and the 'Kokin Wakashū' (905 AD). The plum blossom, blooming early even in the cold, with its delightful fragrance, has charmed the Japanese for centuries. Symbolizing perseverance, vitality, nobility, and purity, plum blossoms have been embraced in various auspicious designs and motifs, reflecting their significant cultural value.
