Description
This is a collection of sketches drawn by Katsushika Hokusai, intended as an instructional manual for craftsmen across the country. The term "漫" (man) conveys the idea of doing something as one pleases or in a carefree manner. Here, "漫画" (manga) refers to "pictures drawn freely" rather than the narrative storytelling "manga" that we are familiar with today.

By simply inserting this rod into the top and bottom of a tenugui, you can easily create a tapestry.

  • After washing, allow it to dry completely.
  • When fraying occurs, trim the loose horizontal threads, leaving about 5mm of the vertical fringe. Repeat this process several times until the fraying stops.
