Description

This noshi-bukuro envelope features a cut-out sea bream (tai) design on glossy light blue washi paper. The lively, leaping sea bream and the red noshi in the upper right corner are intricately handcrafted by layering fine cutouts. The sea bream, with its red color, rounded, plump form, and delicious taste, is associated with good fortune. It is considered an auspicious fish, as it is often held by Ebisu, one of the Seven Lucky Gods, and the word 'tai' is included in the Japanese word 'medetai,' which means 'auspicious' or 'happy.' Perfect for any celebratory occasion.
