Description

Swallows are among Japan's most iconic summer birds, migrating from Southeast Asia and arriving around April each year. Not only beneficial to farmers for their appetite for insect pests, swallows also prefer to nest near human homes. The charming sight of parent birds feeding their chicks beneath the eaves has endeared them to people for generations.

 

By simply inserting this rod into the top and bottom of a tenugui, you can easily create a tapestry.

  • Wash separately from other clothing by hand for the first few washes, as this is a hand-dyed product.
  • Avoid using bleach or detergent containing bleach.
  • After washing, allow it to dry completely.
  • When fraying occurs, trim the loose horizontal threads, leaving about 5mm of the vertical fringe. Repeat this process several times until the fraying stops.
